Feature Artist: Natalie Knight
Natalie Knight will be featuring her Nature photography at Treats
Creamery and Cafe for this upcoming First Friday in downtown Lancaster,
PA. This following a successful showing during the city's Fall
ArtWalk.
Natalie, an avid nature photographer, writer and single mother of 6 had
been following her love of nature and photography ever since she was a
small child. " Her work touches your soul and draws you in.
You see in her photos that which you overlook at first glance" says
cafe owner, Jason Spatola.
Natalie views her work as freezing a moment in time so all can
see. "I capture the moments that stopped my heart and those
are the ones I put on film."
To her, nature is always a surprise, you do not know what is
going to happen or develop in the work. She sees the work for the
first time when it is developed, the same as the viewer for what nature
has to offer is more then what can be seen with the naked eye.
Many an artist will try to conceptualize and compose their work.
Natalie takes the approach of asking permission of nature to freeze a
slice of time. She is merely a observer of the beauty in nature
that surrounds us. The viewer can see the subtleties of colour
and the beauty of the simplicity of nature by just looking. Often
the everyday causes us to overlook the beauty but by her freezing these
moments we see what we have in front of us and what we may have missed.
"Many people observe nature with their eyes wide open, I observe them
with my eyes shut and my heart open. I take nothing but photos
and leave nothing but my heart." says Ms. Knight.
